Their story started at a family wedding. Surrounded by the joy of her cousin tying the knot, Deidra and Ben first crossed paths. While the spark was there, the timing wasn't quite right yet—but they made a point to keep in touch, a slow-burning friendship forming in the background of their busy lives.

Fate finally stepped in through a professional "hiccup." Ben was supposed to capture the memories of Deidra’s birthday party behind the lens, but when he couldn't make the event, he knew he owed her more than just an apology. He "shoot his shot" and offered a dinner date to make it up to her.

That first date at the restaurant didn't end when the bill came. Instead, it moved to the parking lot, where a quick goodbye turned into hours of deep conversation that stretched until the early morning light. In those quiet hours, they realized this was more than just a "makeup" dinner.

As no journey is without its defining moments, their path included periods of reflection. After a few years of dating, Ben found himself at a crossroads, navigating the weight of such a life-changing decision. But true love has a way of providing clarity. He realized that life without Deidra wasn't an option. He proposed, she said "Yes," and their journey as a couple truly began.

In 2021, they honored their love with a beautiful Ghanaian traditional wedding. It was a day of culture, heritage and family, but the world was a different place then. Due to the pandemic, they were unable to exchange their vows in a formal ceremony or host the grand reception they had always dreamed of with family and friends. Some dreams are simply worth the wait.

Deidra always held a wish in her heart: that on their five-year anniversary, they would finally have their moment. She dreamed of the white bridal gown, the formal "I do’s," and the chance to celebrate their union without restrictions.

Five years later, the time has finally come.
